Direct Sellers Association of Canada Recognizes Academic Scholarship Recipients

TORONTO, ON – The Direct Sellers Association of Canada (DSA) is proud to announce that it has awarded Six (6) $1,000 scholarships to either deserving children of active Independent Sales Consultants (ISCs) of DSA Member Companies, or ISCs who themselves are students.

“The cornerstone of the direct selling business is to provide opportunities for individuals, regardless of background, to achieve success,” said James Smith, DSA President. “The recipients of our scholarship program are a testament to this philosophy. Congratulations to each of you.”

The six recipients of the 2016 DSA Academic Scholarships are:

  • Adrienne MacKenzie, Scentsy Canada Enterprise
  • Emily Lieuwen, AVON Canada Inc.
  • Jake Quinton, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Ltd.
  • Jenna McNutt, AVON Canada Inc.
  • Maryam Vaseghi-Shanjani, AVON Canada Inc.
  • Delanie Tiedemann, AVON Canada Inc.

Grants for educational initiatives are made possible through support from the Direct Selling Education Foundation of Canada (DSEF).  The DSEF is a not-for-profit organization established by the Canadian DSA in 1994.  The DSEF promotes public awareness of the direct selling industry in Canada and serves the public interest through educational programs and research into direct sales and micro enterprise.

“As Chair of the Direct Selling Education Foundation, I am honoured to be a part of this initiative that supports our wonderful industry,” said Gina Bresciani. “The stories that were sent to us were heartfelt and inspiring, a true testament to the life-altering industry we have with direct selling.  We are excited for the future and look forward to awarding many more scholarships to deserving students across Canada.”
