DSA Canada Launches Direct Sellers Day 2024: Celebrating #MyIndependentSpirit

The Direct Sellers Association of Canada (DSA Canada) is excited to announce that this year's Direct Sellers Day will be held on September 18, 2024. This annual event is dedicated to raising awareness about the positive impact of direct selling and the opportunities it provides for personal and economic growth.
This year, under the theme "#MyIndependentSpirit," DSA Canada will spotlight the personal journeys and successes of independent sales consultants (ISCs) across the nation.
The Theme: #MyIndependentSpirit
The #MyIndependentSpirit theme focuses on the empowerment that direct selling offers to individuals, allowing them to own their businesses, set their schedules, and achieve their personal and professional goals. It celebrates the flexibility, freedom, and economic opportunities that come with being a part of this growing sector. This year’s Direct Sellers Day celebration will provide a platform for ISCs to share their inspiring stories and showcase the true potential of this dynamic industry.
Contributions of the Direct Selling Industry
Direct selling continues to be a significant economic driver in Canada, contributing over $1.4 billion annually to the economy in national and local taxes. The industry supports approximately 1.1 million ISCs who engage with clients in communities nationwide, emphasizing personal customer service and trusted relationships. Moreover, the direct selling community is profoundly committed to social good, with 95% of consultants contributing to Canadian charities annually.
DSA Canada is made up of more than 60 companies, including such leading retail brands as Avon, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Arbonne, Cutco and USANA, that together generate over $8.7 billion total annual economic impact in Canada.
DSA Canada's Commitment to Ethics and Consumer Protection
The association uses Direct Sellers Day to educate the public on the rigorous codes of ethics that its members adhere to, ensuring a standard of excellence and trust that protects both consultants and consumers.
"DSA Canada is steadfast in its commitment to uphold the highest standards of ethics in direct selling, ensuring that every interaction respects consumer rights and fosters trust," said Peter Maddox, President of DSA Canada.
"Direct Sellers Day not only celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit of our consultants but also underscores our dedication to protecting and empowering consumers and sellers alike."
Engage and Celebrate Direct Sellers Day
DSA Canada invites all direct sellers, member companies, and the public to participate in Direct Sellers Day activities. The day will be celebrated with an in-person awards ceremony to recognize ISCs who have gone above and beyond in the direct selling industry and a social media campaign encouraging ISCs to share their success stories using the hashtag #MyIndependentSpirit.
To support this initiative, DSA Canada has prepared a comprehensive toolkit for members and consultants, which includes digital graphics, social media content, and up-to-date direct selling statistics for celebrating this special day.
Stay tuned to our website and social media channels as we count down to September 18th and prepare to celebrate the independent spirit that thrives within the direct selling community.
