Scholarship Program Applications 

Offering $16,000 in scholarships to full-time Canadian post-secondary students – including those entering their first year in Fall 2023.

Our 2023 Scholarship Program offers four, $4,000 scholarships to eligible post-secondary students whose lives have been positively impacted by the direct selling industry.

STAGE 1: What you need to know before applying

Scholarships can be awarded to:

Students must be registered for the 2023/2024 school year in either a full-time:

  • Degree or diploma program at a Canadian college or university; or
  • Three-or-four-year CEGEP or technical school program.

The application is a two-stage process. Applications for Stage 1 have closed. 

Students can apply for a scholarship if they are in the process of registering for the 2023/2024 school year, however, proof of registration must be submitted for all applicants who proceed to the second stage.


Applicants selected to proceed to Stage 2 will be notified by July 14, 2023. Only advancing applicants will be contacted.

Submission requirements for Stage 2 include:

  • Most recent college/university/high school transcript.
  • Proof of enrollment in an accredited Canadian college or university program.
  • Letter of reference from faculty member or teacher.
  • Video application/testimonial.

DSA/DSEF reserves the right to terminate this program at any time. The Scholarship Review Committee (SRC) has the sole responsibility of selecting recipients based on the criteria as set forth in the description. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. The application becomes the property of the DSA/DSEF. All questions about the scholarships should be directed to info@dsa.ca.

2023 Scholarship Recipients

In 2023, DSA Canada awarded four, $4,000 scholarships to both deserving children and grandchildren of active independent sales consultants (ISCs) of DSA member companies and ISCs who themselves are students.

The four recipients of the 2023 DSA Canada Scholarships were:

  • Maja Zbogar, Western University, Cutco/Vector Marketing Canada
  • Mattie Cull, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Pampered Chef Canada
  • Angel Ferguson, St. Lawrence College, Arbonne International Canada
  • Tiffany Levers, Douglas College, Mary Kay Cosmetics Ltd.

About the recipients

Maja Zbogar

Maja Zbogar
Western University
Cutco/Vector Marketing Canada

Maja is entering her fourth year, studying Piano Performance (Music) at Western University. Her dream is to one day open her own music school.

She has spent the last three summers selling Cutco with Vector Marketing Canada and credits her direct selling experience for impacting her life both personally and professionally. She has learned how to set and achieve goals and sharpened her communication and presentation skills.

Maja has won numerous awards for her academic achievements, has completed four half-marathons and is also an active participant in the community. She volunteers at her local church and soup kitchen, and plays the piano and sings at local retirement homes.

Mattie Cull

Mattie Cull
Memorial University of Newfoundland
Pampered Chef Canada

Mattie is entering her second year, studying Nursing at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She hopes to continue her studies and to one day become a nurse practitioner or even a doctor.

Mattie credits her mother’s participation in direct selling as a Pampered Chef consultant for teaching her the importance of persistence and not giving up, stepping outside her comfort zone to achieve her goals, relationship building and time management.

In addition to her academic achievements, Mattie also participated in the Grenfell Teddy Bear Clinic and works at the Long Term Care Clinic at Corner Brook.

Angel Ferguson

Angel Ferguson

Arbonne International Canada

Angel is entering her first year, studying Early Childhood Education (ECE) at St. Lawrence College. She has spent the last 23 years of her career working in the school setting as an educational assistant. Her love for children and teaching has motivated her to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher, even at this stage in her career.

In her spare time, Angel is also an independent consultant with Arbonne International Canada. Through her business experience, she has learned how to be more confident and she’s become a better mentor and leader. Her Arbonne business has helped her pay essential bills and given her the opportunity to give back to her community.

She aspires to show her children and future students that no matter what obstacles you face, perseverance is the key to achieving your goals and dreams.

Tiffany Levers

Tiffany Levers
Douglas College
Mary Kay Cosmetics Ltd.

Tiffany is entering her second year, in the Future Teachers Program at Douglas College. She plans on continuing her studies after graduating so that she can become a teacher.

Tiffany grew up in a direct selling household, with both her mother and grandmother working together as Senior Independent Sales Directors with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She credits her family’s participation in direct selling for teaching her the importance of relationship building, determination, leadership, customer service, as well as communication skills.

Tiffany is also an accomplished dancer and loves to teach dance classes.
